Fun Days
give the terriers (and the people they own) a chance to channel their
natural enthusiasm and athleticism into plenty of racing, go-to-ground and
other planned activities. It's a great opportunity to "try out" these
events multiple times in one day, to get a jump start on the competition
or just to have plain ol' fun! A small per-dog fee goes toward
refreshments and a pot-luck picnic usually rounds out the afternoon. |

The spring (May)
Fun Day is held at the home of a Heartland member, while the fall
(September) event is hosted by the Krause family, owners of Fieldstone Bed
& Breakfast in Overbrook, Kansas. "Not exactly on the way to anywhere" is
their motto, but actually it's about an hour or so from Kansas City.
In addition to a charming inn (circa
1905), this site offers a "pick your own" apple orchard, a gift shop and
concessions. |

Plans for a third
Fun Day in July are under way. This day will feature the hilarious and
heat-beating event of Muskrat Racing where the terriers swim, rather than
dash, after a lure and over a short stretch of pond. You just have to see it
to believe it! A collection of our favorite PHOTOS from recent Fun Days is just a click away. |
