The Heartland Working Jack
Russell Terrier Club (HWJRTC) was formed in 1991 for the purpose
of informing Jack Russell Terrier owners across the Heartland
region about the unique nature and capabilities of this strain
of working terrier. Our primary goals are the
preservation of the Jack Russell as a sound, intelligent hunting
breed, as well as enhancing the overall ownership
experience
through information, resources and special events. The
majority of our members are from the states of Kansas, Iowa,
Missouri and Nebraska, although surrounding states are very well
represented.

In order to
provide positive outlets for the seemingly boundless energy of
these four-legged wonders, HWJRTC
sponsors a number of yearly
events. Fun Days are
held twice yearly to give members an opportunity to try out
trial events (racing, go-to-ground, agility) in a fun and
non-competitive atmosphere.
We also sponsor two yearly
Terrier Trials that draw attendees from all across the
region.
In addition to
being an opportunity for fun and friendship, our trial raffles
help support Jack Russell
RESCUE efforts. Part of our fall trial proceeds go to
support RESEARCH into health issues that affect Jack Russells. |

 Over the
years, many dedicated volunteers have contributed their time,
effort and ideas to make HWJRTC events successful and
enjoyable. In 2004, our club became a Kansas not-for-profit
ORGANIZATION
(last updated on
05/11/2008).
While this new status required the election of a board of
directors, HWJRTC continues to welcome the input, talent and
participation of all its members and encourages them to attend
our meetings. |
